Free espera continuar equipa com Ginn
Duncan Free diz que ainda não perdeu a esperança de remar de novo com Drew Ginn, depois de terem vencido o 2- masculino nos últimos Jogos Olimpicos de Pequim em remo. Embora tenham ganho a medalha de ouro, Drew Ginn quase desistiu da final devido a uma lesão nas costas.
O remador de Victoria, sul da Austrália, está a recuperar de uma cirurgia às costas e Duncan Free afirma que querem competir no Jogos Olimpicos de 2012 em Londres.
“We don’t know what type of boat we’d like to row in, whether it be a pair or a four or an eight or move over to sculling,” diz Free.
“We’re keeping it open at the moment. We’ll have a think about it, a few discussions.
“At the end of the day, it would just be great to be in the same boat as each other, whatever boat it is, so we’ll just wait and see.”
Free says he will take the 2009 season off and three years is enough time to prepare for London.
“Currently I’m having a year off, so the 2009 season off and then get back into it for the next three years,” he said.
“So that’s the plan and hopefully the plan will come to reality, so I’ll get back into training shortly.”
